The journey began with the inception of Osso, Oklahoma's sport and social organization. OSSO saw a gap in the market for adult social sports leagues and embarked on creating a solution. In 2019, the discovery of an empty backyard property served as the catalyst for a new venture – Pearl Beach Brew Club. A partnership was formed with the owners of the brewery, leading to the birth of a unique dual concept.
Does Sand and Sips Mix?
Combining the operations of a bar brewery with sand volleyball courts presented a unique set of challenges. The partnership between bar owners and volleyball enthusiasts highlighted the need for seamless coordination. The tug-of-war between the two sparked a transition, leading to Paxton's team taking over the entire operation.
Clearing the Net and Soaring High
Navigating the intricacies of bar operations posed a learning curve for Paxton and her team. With backgrounds in various fields, they adapted to the bar industry's legalities, licenses, and safety regulations. The challenge of managing a seasonal business in Oklahoma's unpredictable weather led to opportunities for improvements.

Pearl Beach's success was attributed to its strong community engagement and organic marketing efforts. Word-of-mouth recommendations fueled growth, leading to waitlisted leagues. Balancing court rental demand with league play was a puzzle Paxton tackled, resulting in creative solutions such as introducing new styles of play.
